After Life(Evernight #4) by Claudia Gray book review

First of all I would like to start of by saying that it's been a really long time since I have read/finished this book so I hope I get all the details done right. This installment is the continuance of Hourglass aka Evernight #3. The story picks up where it left off of (which I like considering I jump around a lot and tend to start other series before finishing the one I'm already reading. I know it's a filthy habit but I'm seeking help for it as we speak or rather type) any 

way 

I like when a series puts you back into the story so big thumbs up for that Gray. And then when the story actual picks up it leaves you wondering is this a new installment or are we still doing the same old same old. Bianca is dealing with being a ghost and trying to figure out what that means while trying to hold whatever is left of Lucas after he's been turned into a vampire . The thing about that is after a while the story started to repetitive.

And then the ending is what really killed it for me. Then ending reads like this( Stop Here If You Don't Want A Spoiler!) The ending reads like this “Lucas I love but I'm a ghost and your a vampire” “Damn its so hard being a vampire when your girlfriend is a ghost” “Bianca even though you already choose Lucas I still love even though your a ghost and i'll never have a true shot at you” “I'm Miss Bethany and I trap ghost for the purpose of one day restoring myself back from the dead” And really if you are dead and have been for centuries now why would restoring yourself be important how does that make sense that killing ghost would help you do that? I'm going to go on saying that I think Gray could have done better. And now my own personal rating system. Yay! * crowd cheering* The characters I'll give a 5 ½ out of 10 stars because I love that she used old characters that fans will recognize. The scenery/settings a 5 ½ only while they weren't described with such detail that made me feel like I was there they did however have something to do with the story itself. The plot a 4 ½ only of the repetitiveness , the cover art a 5 only because while it is not a jaw dropper it still looks better that the last one and finally the over all experience a 4 out of 10 because it was just an okay book nothing you would read again and again and again.

Will I read the spin off of this series ...mmm...maybe.

Hourglass(Evernight #3) by Claudia Grey book review

Hourglass is the part three of the Evernight series which follows main characters Bianca and Lucas as they run from the previously involved with Black Cross and now Charity Balthazar's little sister turned vampire, turned psycho and on top of all of that Bianca's health is failing. Can love survive three obstacles trying to tear them apart ? What's going on with Bianca's health?  Who will get to them first Black Cross or Charity?  I'm really on the fence about this book while I do enjoy the series and the twist and turns that came with it but things that Bianca and Lucas had to over come in the past were a lot but three things at the same time on top of being uneducated runaways with zero prospects on life.

  As I'm reading this I got the sense that their was no hope for these two lovers. I like love worth fighting for as much as the next person but this book came across as never going to happen. However I did appreciate the catch 22 of if Bianca doesn't become a vampire.....STOP SPOILER ALERT ! I f Bianca doesn't become a vampire then she becomes a rave which is Gray's word for ghost. Although I did think that was a lot for the couple to deal with I still thought that was very creative. 

   One more dislike and this one is a strong dislike. I didn't like when....STOP SPOILER ALERT!  I didn't like when Bianca was dying how Lucas offered her the chance to drink from him to save herself but in the process   he did not want turn vampire himself which I personally thought was selfish.  Okay now that I have gotten over my dislikes I think it's time for personal ratings! :-) For the characters I'll give them a 5 out of 10 stars.

  The scenery/settings a 4 out of 10 only because I thought that the scenery could be appealing to the reading and they came off as one dimensional and boring. The cover art a 4 out of 10 stars only because that too came off as slightly boring and unappealing. The plot or story line a  5  1/2  stars out of 10 and finally the over all experience a 6 out of 10 stars only because I enjoy this series and would like to read more from Gray and yes I will and have already started reading the next installment of this series.

Stargazer(Evernight #2) by Claudia Grey book review

Stargazer is the second installment of the Evernight series which follows the fatal attraction love story of Bianca and Lucas . In this installment Bianca follows Lucas back to his Black Cross hide-away in an attempt to be with him while mean while ghosts are appearing at Evernight Academy with little to no explanation. Will Bianca be discovered by Black Cross? What's the reason for all of the ghosts suddenly showing up at Black Cross? And most importantly will Bianca and Lucas finally be together like they had always planned in this new adventure? These are the questions that I and a lot of you might have been asking yourself as this exciting and romantic tail plays out and just like the good writer Grey is she dose her best to answer these questions and many more without giving away too much of the next installment.

Okay there's Grey's praise now here come the slams. Sorry this would not be an honest review without them. I do like the appearance of unbreakable love that Grey portrays between Lucas and Bianca but at some point I just started saying come on let's be real here. These two are from two different worlds , heading for two different futures and completely has no hope of being together. When Grey started making something happen with Balthazar and Bianca I was kind of thinking yes! Finally! Bianca is moving on from Lucas and hooking up with someone more in her world, more her type, someone she has a snow ball's chance in hell of being with.

But huh this is a YA novel after all and it would be if everything was as simple as finding a guy that no body has a problem with you being with, a guy that understands what you are going through more than anyone else , a guy that is one hundred percent perfect for you and just taking him and being happy. No this is YA and YA should stand for not at easy. Bianca loves Lucas so much that she is willing to run away with him and right into the arms of black cross. I was thinking come on once again does the girl main character in every YA novel have to be the one to sacrifice everything for true love?!

Especially after the guy Lucas would not change into a vampire and sacrifice everything for her. Really?! No really? There is a point where Bianca straight up ask him to go through the change and he looks her right in the face and says “no don't ever ask me to that for you ever” So not that people should take their values from a book. Please people do not take your values from any fictional story! Please! But I couldn't help but wonder what a real impressionable little girl would think about the way Lucas was so unwilling to give up anything for Bianca but at a moment's notice Bianca was so willing to run away from home and her vampire nature for him. Hmm sorry Grey not liking that at all.

The characters in this book were just as lively as I remembered them to be . I would have to say that I did enjoy the side characters this time around as I think I did in the last installment. Besides the obvious hints of sexism in the story I did enjoy the plot very much. As for the cover art it was …..well nice. It wasn't breath taking but it was somewhat of an eye pleas-er to say the least. The scenery or settings of this book were really good as per my personal rating system I would give it a five out of 10 stars. And the overall book experience I would give a 7 out of 10 stars. And yes I will and have already started reading the next installment.

Um....I wish I had more to say about this book not for the lack of words but for the lack of remembering what I truly wanted to say …. just a word to the wise when you finish reading a book you should immediately start reviewing or I promise you that you will forget what cool and clever things you really wanted to say about it lol. Anyway babbling on here ...the point is besides a few minor annoyances I did enjoy this book and the this series and look forward to what comes next.  

Wide Awake Academy of the Fallen(Wide Awake Academy of the Fallen#1) by Daniele Lanzarotta book review

Wide Awake Academy of the Fallen is a story about a normal sixteen year girl that one day has her perfect little world turned upside down when she goes on field trip with her school and comes across a strange and crying girl that seems to be lost. When Kayla tries to help the girl she is turning on an internal switch that she going to wish she hadn't . Now she's seeing ghost and the only other person who can see them is a once popular and loved by everyone boy named Hunter . Hunter then volunteers to start hanging out in her room to stop the bad ghost Benjamin from having his way with Kayla. With all that time Kayla spends with Hunter a friendship begins to form a friendship that then turns into something more. Ooh okay I want to start off by saying that the cover art of this book gives me the creeps but in a good way. I love when cover art has the power to do that!

Now that's out of the way I will also go on record saying that I have been trying get my hands on this book for the longest time and when I finally did this book did not disappoint. As mentioned above Kayla has a pretty good life going for herself despite having been adopted and not knowing her parents from like birth. She drives a great car, has pretty and popular friends, goes to a pretty decent school in a good neighborhood. Has the popular jock-ish boyfriend but when she goes on a field trip and starts seeing this girl crouched down behind a display or something crying life just isn't same. Loved ,loved, loved how mysterious this book turned out to be . The whole seeing ghost thing is always creepy it doesn't matter if it's in a book or in a movie it's always interesting.

When that detail popped up I thought for sure that I had this book nailed. It was like bam! Got it! I know what her power is! And then when Hunter started seeing the same things too once again I thought for sure that I had everything all figured out. But boy was I wrong. STOP HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT A SPOILER!!!! So when at the end Kayla turned out to be a nephilim I was like floored. Seriously I think my mouth was hanging wide open at that point. I was so shocked because the book didn't start out as the typical fallen angel book with the whole seeing ghost thing and all. And Hunter being some kind I don't know half ghost or something was genius! Now I personal didn't care for Kayla's so called friends. I used the term so called because they didn't seem to about anything besides shopping and gossiping. Which made them very two dimensional.

Even with that it still wasn't that big of a deal to me because they weren't really important to the story like a lot of friends are in YA books. Her ex-boyfriend included were simply props and most of the story takes place while they are just in the background . Let me see is there anything that I didn't like about the book? At this point no. There really wasn't anything that flawed the book or made wonder what Lanzarotta was thinking. Okay so instead of going on and on about how good this book is I'm just going to let my personally rating system do the talking for me. The cover art I 'll give a 8 out of 10 stars, the cover wasn't just beautiful but it was related to the actual story plot and the character. The scenery/settings a 6 out of 10 stars because even though Lanzarotta is one of those few authors that when they describe a place you do get a feeling that you are there but I did wish that there were more scenery to choose from considering that most of the book was spent inside of Kayla's room. The characters a 8 out of 10 stars I really enjoyed both Hunter and Kayla and didn't mind the other characters being simply just props. The plot a 10 out of 10 I really enjoyed the mystery of it all and finally the overall experience a 10 out of 10 stars. Would you read this again? What do you think? :-)

A Beautiful Dark(A Beautiful Dark#1) by Jocelyn Davies book review

A Beautiful Dark is the story of a seventeen year old girl named Skye Parker who on her seventh birthday starts going through some changes. Changes that bring two mysterious guys into her life. Devin and Asher. Skye has to figure out what is it that both Devin and Asher want with her? Why does her eyes from time to time change from gray to silver? And what is they real story behind her parents death? Okay I will start of by saying that I did enjoy the mystery of this book. I mean the way Davies keeps you turning page after page wondering what's next to come is genius but..... that's all it is.

Wait let me clarify myself what I mean is it just plot to keep you interested but doesn't really give you anything to look forward to. Confused? Well let me put it this way the first couple of chapters when we the reader(s) still didn't know who Devin and Asher were and what is it that they wanted with Skye or we still didn't know what Skye herself was the story was interesting. But when the big reveal came that Devin and Asher were fallen angels(despite that even though they have the normal angel-like wings they claim that they are not) and they Skye is kind of like them but kind of isn't( whatever the h*ll that's supposed to mean) the story just kind of went flat after that.

What I mean by went flat is that there was page after page of nothing really happening. Skye goes to the mall. Next page Skye is hanging out with her friends. The next page Skye is having a party. Blah, blah, blah. Like I said nothing really happens. I think if I'm not not mistaken the book has 35 chapters and I think the big reveal happens at like chapter 19 or like 20 and this rest of the chapters are exactly like that depicted in the above sentences. I got the sense that Davies ran out of something important to wright so she just decides to fill the rest of the chapters with meaningless random teenage things that almost have nothing to do with the supernatural element of the story.

Now as for the supporting characters like guardians/parents, friends, teachers they were all great by my account. In the sense that they were all believable. I believed the character that they portraying. Um just a heads up there is like love triangle thing happening here between Skye, Devin and Asher but it is one that feel like wasn't well developed and kind of felt like one of those love at first sight kind of things and some  times that works in books(if done right) and some times it doesn't like in this book. Hey Davies next time you would like to do a love triangle thing give it some more time please I felt like no of the characters knew each other well enough to fall for one another.

Ok now it's time for my own personal ratings. For the cover art I give a 8 out of 10 stars because it is one the prettiest covers I've come across so far and the cover model looks strangely just like the author and the main character....hmm it would be super cool if that really is the author on her own book :-) The characters a 8 out of 10 stars everyone of them was interesting. The setting/scenery a 10 out of 10 stars Davies made me feel like I was really there in the scenes with the characters. The plot a 5 out of 10 only because wasn't expecting another fallen angel book and though that there was room to turn it into something different. Finally the over  all experience a 7 out of 10 stars because despite my complaints I did enjoy reading this book. And would I read another installment? Yes yes I would.

Passion(Fallen #3) by Lauren Kate book review

Passion is the third installment of the Fallen series and the Lucinda Price & Daniel Grigori love story. This installment picks up immediately where the last one left off with Luce stepping through an announcer and falling aimlessly through time to revisit her's and Daniel's past lives so that she could figure out why every time her and Daniel get together that she keeps dying? What really is this curse? Why are things different this time around? And what really makes their love so true and real? When the idea of Luce stepping through an announcer first appeared at the end of the second installment I though it was stupid , dangerous and reckless of her to go head long into the unknown back into the pass but after playing with the idea a little I then started thinking that maybe going back will help either help her understand why the death occurs so that way she can understand why they can't be together or how the death occurs so that she can return her current time and stop it from happening to her current self.

Both of which hopeful ideas would actually make sense but.... *STOP ! MAJOR SPOILER ALERT! * neither one of those ideas is what takes place during the plot of this book. Page after page after page after page of this book is nothing but Luce diving head long into the past and into all kinds of danger only to run into past Daniel and having him save the day and by saving the day you mean meeting up with Luce kissing her or coming into some kind of contact with her and then she dies a fiery death each and every time. There was even a part during this adventure(and by adventure I mean one long drawn out never ending story) where Bill Luce's mysterious traveling companion that only Luce can see or hear who also disappears when he comes into contact with any of the past fallen angels * hint, hint * tells her to possess her past selves to get a look at her own death from the their eyes.

When the suggestion came about I was thinking: 1. How the hell will seeing a death through eyes she has already seen through going to help break the curse. 2. In the likely even that her past self burst into flames how is she going to leave that body in time to save her current self? 3. From the very begging Luce has had apprehensions about bill so why the hell would she just listen to him with complete unquestionable loyalty? So long story short Luce does indeed possess her past selves only to see and kiss Daniel in different time periods and from different angles. During these meetings Luce gets so swept up in Daniel that forgets to ask him any questions, or to notice anything but him. Okay so your probably wondering one thing did she by possessing her past selves learn how to stop her own death from happening?

No! The answer is no well she dose learn that when her past self does burst into flames they are at peace when this happenings. Meanwhile Daniel,Cam and everyone from the ending of the last installment are on Luce's heels traveling through time to catch up with her but always arriving months, seconds or days too late. Also Luce is warned that her travels could possibly disrupt the future but she ignores the warning and continues to disrupt her past lives causing all kinds of chaos in the hopes of finding out the true about her's and Daniel's curse. Towards the end Bill tricks Luce or almost tricks her into quote unquote kill her soul and put an end to Daniel's pain and suffer. When Luce asks what will happen to her Bill just simply says your body will just come out of your past self unharmed , it'll go back to your time zone and live the current life of Lucinda Price but without the dramatic death that occurs each and every time you see Daniel.

“Kill your soul” Really ? That makes no sense your soul is apart of who your are so in theory if Luce was to kill her soul shouldn't that kill her as well? And another question that's bothering me how could she possess her past selves if she herself is not a spiritual being or a ghost? If a normal person went back in time with some sort of time machine they would not be able to find themselves from the past and just touch them and possess them. I do understand that this is a fictional story but that makes no sense even in fiction without the explanation of someone having spiritual powers. And the most annoying thing is Bill tricks Daniel into going back to before the angel fall when he should have been looking for Luce and once he realizes that he's been tricked he just goes along with it? What? So Daniel tries to sneak in a loop hole to his punishment that if Luce goes back in time in one of her life times and gathers all the information that she needs and then still chooses him or whatever else her choose would be then she'll be free to grow and to I guess live a normal life.

Question. If Luce really wanted to know the reason for her death couldn't she just had asked Bill to take her to her very first life? If you want to know something wouldn't it help to go to the very front of the information? Instead of randomly skipping through time like randomly flipping through the pages of a book? Luce learns nothing, this entire trip through time was a waist of time at the very end the only reason the reader learns why Luce keeps dying when her and Daniel get together is simply because it simply is. We're left with the same amount of information that we started with. If your still wondering what it is like to read this book just imagine getting bits and pieces of information to a puzzle only to have the pieces not fit or make any sense then to get to the end of the puzzle and to discover that the key to the puzzle is …. it just is the way is. When Kate learn that mysterious teenage love, information that makes no sense and really bad cliff hangers does not make a good book or a good series.

For the cover art I give this book a 4 out of 10 stars this cover isn't as pretty and captivating as the other two covers in this series. The characters a 4 out out 10 stars they were just as dumb and boring as they were in the part two of this series and the characters that were actually exciting barely had any parts through the whole book. The setting/scenery a 4 ½ stars out of 10 only because the descriptions took me to different countries that other wise I would probably never travel to. The plot a 3 out of 10 and the overall experience a 3 out of 10. Will I read this again? I'm giving Kate one last chance to redeem herself assuming that Rapture is not the last installment like Kate has quoted.

Sweat Evil by Wendy Higgins book Review

The story Sweet Evil is a story of unobtainable love, new and great friends , sadness and one teenage girl's fight to take control of her own life. Anna Whitt is a 17 teen year old girl whom is adopted a an early age and lives her life as a normal teenage girl with a few hidden secrets. She has good hearing, night vision and can see people's auras.

Anna's life begins to change when she meets hot band drummer Kaiden Row and discovers that he too has the same powers she has. Together they go on a journey across country to the place of Anna's birth to find out more information about what Anna is? Why is she different from the others of her kind ? What is her connection to Kaiden? And what little information does her incarcerated farther have for her?

These are all the questions twist and turns that arise during the heart beating ride that is Sweat Evil. Higgins paints nephilim in a different light than any other writer ever has. We always assume nephilim were good because they are the sons and daughters of fallen angels who would do anything to get back into God's good graces. But not in this book! It has been a while since I loved every character in a book and thought them all to be believable.

The only real complex I have is Patty allowing Anna to drive clear across the country with some dude that Anna and Patty herself barely knows? I was thinking come on that is not real. And yes I do know that this is a fantasy fictional book and sometimes if you look to deeply into these stories you find an abundance of things that would not happen in real life but that was completely unbelievable. There is no way a mom adopted or natural would allow their 17 year old daughter to drive across country with some shady -looking teenage boy that she has only seen for the first time.

I don't care if he has enough money to pay for fifty gold elephants to personally carry her there. That whole scene is unbelievable! Um … really I think that was my only real gripe with this story, everything else made good sense and was in good timing...so with out further ado here's my personal rating system. Whoo! * crowd cheering * For the cover art I give a 10 out of 10 stars it was a beautiful cover and it is one of the few covers that actually resembles the characters described in the book. Great job! The characters a 10 out of 10 stars, the plot a 10 out of 10, the scenery/settings a 10 out of 10. The way Higgins described her places made me feel like I was actually there and I haven't felt that in a while! And finally the overall book experience a 10 out of 10. Whenever you are sad because you've finished a book and even sadder because you realize that you do not have the sequel in your personal collection and begin to feel like you are empty inside then that was one hell of a book you've read! Will I be reading the next to come? What do you think?  

Fins Are Forever(Forgive My Fins#2) by Terra Lynn Childs book review

This story is the continence of Lilly Sanders adventures on land dealing with a new boyfriend and if you had read Forgive My Finns turned out to be her annoying but obsessed next door neighbor, regular high school life, Merfolk life, a under water kingdom waiting for at the end of her sixteenth birthday and now having her bratty cousin hanging around. I f you think my synapses is short then that is because there really isn't too much to tell about this story. (So to be so harsh). Now I know what your thinking if I read the first installment of this story and didn't like it then why the h#ll did I read the second installment?

Well I believe in giving authors another chance to redeem themselves. I mean really come on aren't we all human? Haven't we all had an idea that we were sure at the time was the best idea that was ever invented only to find out that not only has someone already either attempted this idea or has succeeded at it and when I say succeeded at I mean created something that was a thousand times better than the sh#t that you came up with? I mean really how many mermaid books are out there on the YA market ? No really how many? Just asking because while there are a lot to explore Mermaids books are still behind werewolf, vampire and faerie books so being that as it may why would Childs take something that has such potential and turn it into something so completely boring! Being a fly on the wall of Lilly Sanderson's life is like being a fly on the wall of your Grandparent's life and not some of those really activate Grandparent's but those go to bed at like 6 pm, bingo playing, stamp collecting Grandparents.

Too harsh? Well if you think so then let me quickly some up how the story actually went down. Ahem. * clears throat * Okay Lilly is sitting in class swooning over Quence instead of paying attention to the teacher, a mysterious earthquake happening and everyone is scared and then nothing. Her cousin mysteriously shows up on land on her her door step looking for a place to live with little to no explanation and then nothing. Lilly is upset because she has to show her cousin around and teach her how to do things on land and then nothing.

Duo meets Brody starts falling head over heels for him while Lilly gets mad for whatever reason (I thought it was some small torch that she still carried for Brody only because that's the way Childs made it seem) that the two of them are spending more and more time together and then nothing. Duo kisses Brody and bonds with him after Lilly warned her not to make that happen(Which I don't know why because as far as I see it Duo is a big girl that can take care of her self) , Duo soon after starts making treats to steal Quence away from Lilly and then nothing.

Lilly has to now bring Brody back home to get a separation for Duo seeing is how Duo is exiled from the ocean and can't go and do this her self and along the way Lilly runs into a childhood friend who is having problems with his kingdom and then forms a plan to have Lilly bond with him to save his kingdom(like she's the magic cure to his problems) and then more nothing. Oh yeah Lilly and Quence also have a break and then get back together again in the process. The end. Now you see, completely not worth my time. But before I get to my personal rating system I just have one question that I forgot to during the review of the first installment. If the Merfolk live in little kingdoms that is disguised as coral reefs than wouldn't they have to shrink down actual cor size in order to live in them? I mean if these coral houses are human sized wouldn't they have been discovered? I don't know that's just my hypothetical question. Okay my personal ratings. As for the scenery I'll give a 3 out of 10 stars. The plot a 2 out of 10 stars. The characters 4 out of 10. The cover art a 3 out of 10. And the overall experience a 3 out of 10. Will I read another installment of this novel? Yes only to see if Childs has the ability to save this sinking ship.

Forgive My Finns(Forgive My Finns#1) by Terra Lynn Childs book review

The story Forgive My Finns is the story of a teenage girl by the name of Lilly Sanderson who dreams of bonding with a boy by the name of Brody Bennett who she claims is her soul mate and is destined to rule by her side in the under water kingdom of Thalassina. All of her dreaming and swooning comes to a crash halt when her annoying next door neighbor Quince Flecther tricks her into kissing him which starts the bonding process and making him attached to her forever if the bond stays in place during the first Lunar Cycle.

Outraged by this Lilly sets off for home(Thalassina) where she hopes to get a magical separation from her farther the king . Time is running out because not only is tracking the Lunar cycle but the longer she stays bonded to Quince is the more undiscovered feeling to start to come to the surface and the more Lilly sees her future with Brody slowly slipping away. Now before going into the anymore details of this story and whether or not I liked it I have to say that it took me a very long time to finish this book. I believe that I started it …. oh wow 11/14/2011 !

And I'm just now recently getting finished ! Reason why at the very beginning I was completely turned off from this book just based on the way it was written and the way that it read. Example: “fraidy-fish” “son of a sword -fish” these are just some of the many annoying phrases that comes out of Lilly's mouth and thoughts throughout the story and when I first started in with the first couple of pages I was pissed thinking that I accidentally purchased some kind of children's book. That being said I can now proceed to some actual book related thoughts. I didn't care for the first couple of chapters where Lilly spends most of her time swooning over the boy Brody. I didn't care for it because that was all there was to it . Swooning.

There was no substance to the main character. She comes off as a ignorant, spoiled moronic typical American teenage that spends all day swooning over some boy that has no glue that she exists all because he is too stuck up and self involved to see anything outside of himself or the group of posers and pretenders that he calls friends. Needless to say that I did not care for the MC Lilly at all. Her family was very absent or hardly around during the book so I didn't really get a good read her family life. Her two friends(one of which being from the ocean) lacked real personality so it made them uninteresting. There wasn't any real villains of the story ...no just a few people who had the potential to become a real problem if Childs had wrote it that way. I found the only redeeming character in this story to Quince. I was interested in him for the start. I loved his mannerism's and adored his refreshing take charge attitude and most importantly that he wasn't as one dimensional as the rest of the characters. So in conclusion if your are in between reads and can't figure out what to read you should pick this book up just as a quick and easy read that won't really make you think about anything or analyze anything.

Now as for my personal rating system. As for the characters main character included I give a 4 out of 10 stars. The plot a 3 out of 10 stars. The setting/scenery a 4 out of 10 stars. The cover art a 4 ½ out of 10 stars. And last but not least the over all experience... I'll give it a 4 ½ out of 10 stars only because the book did became more enjoyable towards the end.

Dark Companion by Marta Acosta book review

 

Dark Companion is the story of one lucky orphaned teen by the name of Jane Williams who is scooped out out the hood or ghetto and transferred to a great town , great school , given a place of her own to live , money to spend and all because of her great academics. While preparing to attend this fabulous new school she is taken under the wing of the head mistress and her family. A family having two sons both attractive in their own way but Jane is drawn to the youngest of the two Lucky for reasons she can't understand even though not so much at the beginning but as time went on we discover is a total rich snobby jerk. There is a connection between Jane and Jack the older of the two sons but Jane refuses to acknowledge it because Jack is not as cute as his brother and was a jerk to her upon their first meeting and continues to be a enigma through out the telling of this story. Jane does make some friends in this academy but is constantly comparing them to her best and old friend that she left behind to come to this school. There are also some side characters like a top drug dealer, a head b*tch of school, some teachers, a pimp, a dead friend , the head of a group home and many more characters that help make up this story. But when Jane discovers the true reason she was brought to her new school is when the story truly starts to take off. Ok I have to say that I absolutely loved this book. I loved the characters , I loved the way it was written , the setting both the place Jane originally came from and where she went the only thing I didn't care too much for was the down play of the whole vampire thing. It was obvious from the way Acosta described most of the residents of this new town that they were vampires. And then then when she went on to describe their abilities I was further pushed into thinking that this is a vampire book but then Acosta backs out of it by saying “no these people just have some weird condition going all the way back their European ancestors that just makes so pale , have a need and crave for blood and have some special abilities. As quoted by me “Huh?” I'm like sitting there thinking they are so totally vampires and not even the newer age ones were it's kind of hard to tell because they don't need blood as much or have that pale vampire look but these were like the normal as described vampires. And I'm thinking maybe Acosta backed out of the vampire thing because it's been so over done but it makes feel some kind of way when a writer committees the reader to think one thing and then makes that thing so obvious and then because of what that thing is they try to tuck their tales between their legs and say “oops sorry didn't mean to make another vampire book but since I did I just going to say they have some weird condition” I yes I know vampire books are getting a little played out and over done but be proud of what you wrote . Have the courage to stand up and say “hey world yes I did make another vampire book and anyone who doesn’t like it can kiss my a**”. Anyone now that I'm done rating it's time for my own personal ratings. Yea! Whoo! *crowd cheering * The setting(s) a 10 out of 10 stars because no matter where the MC=main character was it was described in such a way that I felt like I was there. The characters a 10 out of 10 stars . Why? Because I felt like every character had a purpose and everyone was exactly who they said they were and I loved it! The plot ...ok 9 out of 10 only because the person that turned out to be the real villain in the story was someone wasn't really there throughout the story and when you have a villain like that unless you create a spin off just for them so that they can tell their side of the story you can't fully understand their motives. Cover art 10 out of 10. And the overall book experience a 7 out of 10 only because of the vampire/ not vampire thing and that it ran a little longer than expected, Acosta had plenty of moments where she could had ended the book after it's climax but didn't and kind of felt like she was just trying to fill pages at some point. Would I read a part two if there's a part two …....h*ll yes!

Unearthly(Unearthly#1) by Cynthia Hand book review

 Unearthly is a story that follows the misadventure of a teen named Clara Gardener as she tries to for fill her heavenly ordained birth right which is called a purpose. All angels have a purpose in this and at the time or puberty is when all angels start developing their powers. Because of this purpose of Clara's her whole family of her brother and mother had to up root their lives and move from California to Wyoming and that's where the story takes off and takes place. Now as for the main character Clara I am a little on the fence about liking her or not . There are several times in the book that I considered her out right mean because of her her purpose. Meaning to say that her purpose involves saving this really cute guy that she spends most of her time obsessing over and thinking she should be with but if course he already has a girlfriend, and she's popular, pretty ...you know the drill. Now where I think she's mean is when her new friend Wendy tries to make her feel more comfortable at the school and even invites her to sit at her table and just really does a great job at making her feel welcome were everyone didn't do anything like that and at times Clara just out right blows her off about doing stuff together or ignores her when she's talking about her day or something important to her. That's wrong you don't do that to someone who has proven time and time again that there a good friend . Wendy and Clara's relationship take a turn for the worse when Clara meets another half blood angel kid like herself Angela. It's almost like Wendy disappears from the book and from Clara's mind when that happens. Another thing that bothered me about the plot and not the characters themselves is the whole she must fall in love with her assignment Christian. I was so thinking if her whole purpose is to save him why dose she have to date him even though he has a girlfriend already and even though Christian treated her like she was beneath him and his friends and even though Tucker Wendy's twin brother even before Hand wrote it that way was interested in her. I mean really why does she have to be in love with him in order to for fill her destiny. I agree with a lot of people when they say that adding the whole they must fall in love with each thing to the purpose made it a little less relevant and because Christian didn't seem like the skipping through the forest type I couldn't for the life of me imagine what would he be doing there at the time he's supposed to saved from the fire. Now there is a small fight scene between this fallen angel and Clara and her Mom but really it was so irrelevant that Hand could had just kept it out of the book all together. So to some everything up it's a story of teenage drama with traveling to a new school in a small town where every already knows everyone, self discovery, love with a hint of a love triangle, new friendships and unsure endings. But now it's time for my own personal rating! Yeah! Woo! Yea! *the crowd cheering * As for the setting I give this book a 10 out of 10 stars because Hand described the scenery so well it made me want to go and visit Wyoming so bad! The characters, just the side characters I give a 6 out of 10 because while they were interesting they had some annoying traits . The main character a 4 out of 10 stars because while she had a brain in her head she did come off as annoying when she kept trying to get closer to Christian and she also came across as self absorbed. The plot a 4 and a half stars because while the fallen angel theme in this book was original it fell short at the end and not just left you with a cliff hanger ending but a “what the hell just happened” kind of ending and finally the overall experience a 6 because even with all it's problems it still turned out to be a real page turner for me at least. OK see you next review. P.S the cover art wasn't all that exciting especially compared to some fallen angel books that I've seen with better cover art.

The Lost Saint(The Dark Divine #2) by Bree Despain book

            Ok so the Lost Saint if you didn't all ready know is the part 2 of The Dark Divine so it immediately picks up where the first one stops with Grace being bitten or changed into a were wolf and now. Having to deal if the after math of that while trying to find out where her also now a were wolf brother has run off to. Ok I like how the story starts off right where it left off at but I didn't like how far Despain took the reader or us away from the matter at hand which was finding Jude(Grace Divine's brother) which was what the story was suppose to be about. But then again sometimes an author has to take the reader away from the story at hand in order to introduce the reader to other things happening around the main character but by the time Despain brings Hus back to the important matter at hand I pretty much forgot about finding Jude. This time around there wasn't to many new characters expect for Tall the mysterious new guy that G(Grace) meets in a sort of night club and who happens to be just like her a happened by chance were wolf. For me Tall was likable as a good guy and I didn't like to much when Despain made him into a bad guy. As a bad guy he was a sniveling coward who followed the every command of the head bad guy. So lame!  Any way because I don't want go on and on about minor lame parts of this book i'll just get right to my personal ratings. Yeah ! Alright! Woo! *crowd cheering*  . Ok as for the plot I gave it 5 out of 10 stars only because I do love this author and the way she attempted to keep everything together leading from the first one into this one. The setting I give a 3 because nothing had really changed from the last time I read the first book and what had changed wasn't that exciting. Yawn. *me pretending to yawn over the book's scenery* . The characters i'll give a 5 and a half.  Why not an whole 6 you may ask. Well every was good expect the main character Grace didn't really seal me this time around for some reason(when you read the book you may feel the same way). And finally the over all book experience a ...... 4 only because while it was good read it wasn't as heart stopping,  nail biting and laughable as the first book.( things did seem to move a little slower this time around).

Evernight(Evernight #1) by Claudia Grey book review

       Evernight by Claudia Grey is a story about a girl named Bianca who is uplifted from her small town leaving behind all her friends and is sent to this spooky new school that her parents acquired jobs at. Here at this academy all the students seem to be too perfect and snobby to be true and that's because they are!. A mystery appears as Grey makes us(the reader) wonder why. Bianca is not truly alone at this school she does make some friends and even finds love but the secret that she herself reveals blows this book wide open for me and then the secret her new found lover reveals brings the book to a strange but family place. Hmm..mm....mm ….Evernight !

Ok I have to admit that the beginning of this book is a little confusing to me and gives the book a unneeded sense of urgency only to bring the readers hopes up and then quickly crashes them back down again. In the beginning Bianca(MC= main character) talks about running away and then strangely proceeds to do so. This was weird because I just already felt like she was being over dramatic in that “I'm a teenage and I want what I want and if I don't get it then I'm going to run away” sense. Then Lucas(2nMC= second main character) appears and tackles her to the ground like he was going to harm her but turns out he was the person who made her turn from a brisk jog into the forest into a full on sprint. Now me personally I love dramatics but opening with such a unnecessary and confusing piece like Grey did makes you look at the MC like she's a nit-wit.

Just a few more things that didn't sit well with me through this book and on to the fun stuff! Yay! Whoo! Haray! (*crowd cheering*) .

OK in pacific order. 1. I didn't like how the main character immediately starts falling for Lucas when her first impression of him was a serial killer/stalker.

  2.didn't care much for her complete trust in Lucas a guy the MC barely knows.

3.Bianca the MC seems weak,pathetic and needy. She lets people walk all over her.

If those things were to change maybe in the next installment I would like the MC a little better. But for now what I liked …... the MC turning out to be a vampire and that everyone else around her is one too but she's this special kind of vampire that only comes around every so many years. However I feel like this twist came too late into the book for it to be significant and kind of just feels like something the author through in their because she was running out of ideas with the whole young love bit. The fight scene between 2ndMC and MC's parents was awesome no buts needed on that! The cover art could use a bit more work but it's still kind of pretty.

Ok it's time for my personal rating system! The characters a 4 & ½ because of the supporting characters were very interesting unlike the MC. The setting a 5 because I loved the way the school, the school grounds and even the town in this story was described. The plot a 4 & ½ because the delivery was a little late and the over all experience a 2, it was interesting but the whole forbidden love bit has been done before. Would I read what's next to come? Yes but it's something I would have to gear myself up for, that I already bought the entire series.

Everneath by Brodi Ashton book review

   Nikki Beckett a 17 year girl returns to her friends and family from a century long stay in a place called the Everneath which from the book is like the or is the mythological Hades. No ones knows where she's been , what was she doing or why she left in the first place. No one except a being named Cole called an everliving who's only way of surviving is to suck the life force or emotions from people or one specially chosen person called a for-fit. No I know what your thinking how can someone disappear for a century and no one seems to notice?! Yeah like that would happen! This question would be a major whole plot if it weren't for a century equaling six months on the surface. Wow! When I first started reading this I was completely lost, like lost with a capital L but as time went on in the book I became more and more in-tuned with the story. Ashton makes it appears like Nikki(MC=main character) was just another American statistic. “Girl moves to a new town, girl starts dating the most popular boy in school , girls are hating on the new girl, new girl can't deal with the pressure so she runs away and then turns to drugs.” Yawn. Boring. Been there , seen that but then bam! Here comes this whole underworld on earth plot, mixed with teenage love that's unbreakable, mixed with the everyday demons that plague the real world, mixed with suspense, mixed with a hint of mystery. Put all of that together , shake it in a cup and blaimo you have a really interesting book! Even though I sinking all the praise of this book I have to stop and talk about my dislikes. Boo!!!!!!!*a crowd booing me and chucking raw vegetables at my head* Ok, ok first the beginning took a little long starting for my taste. Then the complete mystery over where has this girl been for six months. The way no one at first seemed to acknowledge that she was even gone. The story jumps right into the fray of things and it' like um hello did she or did she not disappear for six months without a peep or a trace. The way Jack(SMC=second main character) just listenings to Nikki's explanation of where she been and what has happened to her without so much as a “your crazy lady” The simple plan J & N come up with to kill Cole(TMC=third main character) just pretty much find his heart which I along with them thought it was in the guitar(I know sounds crazy but you'll have to just read and find out) and smash the thing to bits. Ah oh! I found a plot hole! Waaaaaaaa!*people crying* If nothing could change Nikki's fate from being sucked back down into the tunnels(the quote, unqote battery of the underworld) then why did N&J(Nikki & Jack) think killing C(Cole ) would stop anything, the way I look at it is that he would be dead and she would still get sucked back down into the underworld. Especially if quoted by C he could not stop the forces of nature. That would be like saying killing this one person would stop a hurricane from coming. Think about that real hard and see how that doesn’t make sense. Ok now that's over it's time for my personal five star ratings! Yeah ! Whew!* the crowd cheers* Ok the characters I'll give a 4, a 4 because I didn't like the MC's defeatist attitude it drove me crazy! The setting/ location a 2 because up until this point I still have no damn clue where they where. The plot a 4 , a 4 because their was that one little whole that I don't feel was truly explained( you know the whole kill Cole and save Nikki thing even as they defy nature and destiny) and then finally the overall experience a 7 because it was interesting and I will be reading any more there is to come. :-) P.S the cover art is amazing!!!!!!

Shimmer(Wicked Woods#2) -by. Kalin Gow book review

<p>Shimmer is the part two to the spine tingling 1st book Wicked Woods by Kalin Gow.And the story immediately picks. Up right where the last one left off with alot of the same characters which is something I did like about the story, However there was alot of things that I didn't,1. The story was a slow starter. Meaning to say that the main parts didn't really pick up until the middle of the book . 2. The love triangle thing between Kevin &amp;amp; Fallen &amp;amp; Briony in my opinion is just unnecessary. The story could do better without that element because the love that Briony(MC) feels for either boy doesn't seem genuine. It comes across like lust more than real love so cut that out of the story and it would be fine. 3. The setting some how the setting lost its creep appeal from book 1 to book 2. The town of Wicked seemed less spooky and more hugs and kisses. *making a disappointed face right now*.&nbsp; And the whole werewolves and vampires have a war thing is a little played to death. Now that the dislikes are done onto the like. *whipping sweat from forehead* .  I liked how the story flowed from book 1 to book 2, I liked the energy that the MC kept up through out the story as it was the same amount of energy that she had in the 1st book. The supporting characters were good without being too over baring. *big announcer voice*  "ladies and gentlemen,  boys and girls of all ages it's time for my own personal rating!" * woo! Yeah* . For the setting i'll give a 5 because it didn't have the same affect on me as it did in the 1st book. The characters a 5 because I really love the MC(main character) , plot a 6 because even though its been done before it was still kinda interesting to get into.  And the overall experience a 4 because I would not read this particular book but would continue to read more to come in this series.

The Dark Divine by Bree Despain book review

The Dark Divine is about a girl named Grace Divine who is a pastor's daughter and a small town teenager like a lot of the MC(main character's) are in YA novels. Grace's happy suburban life is shaking up three years before the actual story takes place when her older brother returns home from their Father’s parish a bloody mess with no explanations. At that time either because Grace was too young or because her family just wanted to keep her out of the weirdness that surrounds their family everything from that day is concealed from Grace. No one every talks about it and she's the only one who has questions about that day and why most of it's details surrounds a once close family friend named Daniel Kalbi. Okay so fast forward from that night three years ago and the story picks up when word spreads about a new kid in Grace's school that she later meets and finds out that he's her brother and her's former art loving and much now changed childhood friend Daniel.

Her family becomes horrified that he has returned to their suburban town and is now in the two older kids(Grace & her brother Jude) school so she(Grace is told to stay away from him and to never bring him up again. Grace being the good girl teenager that she is decides against her families wishes and in turn tries to help him at every chance she gets despite his new bad boy image , unfavorable roommates/friends and even some connection to what the locals of this town calls the Markham street monster Grace can't stay away. Okay now that I have given a quick walk through of this book I 'm going to go on saying that this was a surprisingly good book. I say surprisingly because with a name like “The Dark Divine you would expect that is another falling angels book which I have only read two falling angel's series that I found to be really good! However this is not a falling angels book and I'm glad that Despain didn't take it in that direction because it would have been too obvious but at the same time I was slightly disappointed with the direction in which she took it in only because I felt like their was a lot more she could have done with the story besides turning it into another werewolf story(oops! Spoiler alert).

Fortunately that is my one and only grievances with this book! (yeah do a happy dance) ** Real big announcer's voice** “ladies and gentlemen it's time for my personal ratings!” **the crowd cheers** “yeah whew! Alright!” For the characters I give this story a 4 because the characters even though they were the normal type of characters that you would expect to find in a small town Despain still made them every bit of entertaining.

The setting I'll give a 3 only because Despain didn't do a good job of making the scenery memorable as a matter of fact I can't even if I tried to remember what town they were in or state or any other scenery I couldn't. The plot a 5. **shocked gasps** “Huh!” Yes even though I didn't agree with the werewolf direction it was still a very good plot with some twist and turns and a big surprise at the end.

The cover art a 10 out of 10 stars! Why because it's just that d*mn pretty! And the overall book experience a 8 out of ten stars! I can say that I did enjoy this book, I will read what's next to come and if Despain continues to write this good than she'll have a fan for life! :-)

Torment(Fallen #2) by Lauren Kate book review

Torment is the second installment of Lauren Kate's Fallen and in this one it immediately picks up after the huge battle at Sword & Cross Academy where the good fallen angels(Danielle,Arraine&Gabe)(even though I didn't think there was such thing as a good fallen because if they were good then they wouldn't have fallen at all!) fought with the bad fallen angels(Cam,Rolland & Molly). So after this battle Danielle decides that it's not safe for Luce(the main character) to stay at Sword & Cross so he(without explaining anything to her) moves her to a new school, Shoreline Academy and then that where like 95% of the story takes place. Okay I did understand the whole need to keep Luce safe from whatever is after her and the same thing that is why her and D can't be together but I had a real life problem with this book because the way this story reads you as the reader could interpret D & L's relationship as a abusive teenage relationship! And I don't see myself as one of those people who takes fictional stories way too serious but come on look at some of the facts he isolated her from friends & family, he tells her she can't leave the place where he's placed her, he monitors her life from a distance most of the time and when dose come around it's only to give her just enough of his time to satisfy her romantic needs and even worse he dose like I've stated before tell her why she's moved to a new school he just gives her one of those "do as I say without a pep" kind of talks. He doesn't hit her ...well he dose actually grab her a lot in fits of anger but like I was saying it dose sound like a abusive relationship. Luce actually fits the profile of an abused girl. Stupid, love-sick and desperate. She's also self absorbed but that quality has nothing to do with abuse I just thought I should mention it.  Okay now that I've gone on and on about some underlining things that people with teenage daughters might be concerned about onto  the actual story and what I think of it.  The story itself is confusing and frustrating with the lack of information that D gives to L which in turn gives  to us the reader. Throughout the story random characters from the first book(Cam,Arraine,Molly &Gabe) just seem to pop up without much explanation as to why are they there. There is constantly things going with L's new friends but she's too love-sick and self absorbed to see any of it. D is constantly giving L orders that he doesn't explains and L constantly disobeys them and then as we who have read the first one know that for whatever reason L keeps being reincarnated every 17 years and comes back with no memory of her past lives in this installment she has a way to access these past memories but at one point makes her drive her from California to Las Vegas to confront some people that she seen in a past memory but doesn't actually go through with it. Really?! Luce actually meets a guy that would be perfect for her, he likes her and she even likes him and if with him wouldn't have to hide from the world or be isolated from friends and family or be told stay put in a place with no explanation why but she still pulls toward D(which I find abusive). Really?!  And so much time was spent on L trying to go through the past to unstand her future(with Danielle) and disobeying his abusive orders that the ending was just slapped together with Luce deciding after everything was said and done ,after all she went through to be with D and after all her bitching about being with him that she's tired of it all and goes away . Really?! So to sum it all up  if you would like to read a story where the main character is  stupid,desperate,love-sick & self absorbed and is in what looks like the beginning of a abusive relationship with a guy that doesn't respect her as an adult enough to explain things to her before he demands that she dose it and then at the end a crapping five minute ending is tacked on then please pick Torment by Lauren Kate. Personal rating I give the setting/ the way the scenery was described a 6, characters(except for the main character because I feel like she deserves a 1) a 4, plot a 2(only because it did keep me wondering where the hell was Kate going with this) and the overall experience a 5(only because this is going to give me something to bitch about for a long time!) : (

Seers of Light (#1) Jennifer DeLucy book review

What did I think about this book? Hmm.... to be honest I don't what I think of this book because I have mixed feelings on it.  Um let's start with the MC(main character) Lily. I found her both frustrating and refreshing all at the same time. Refreshing because she was a lot older than any of the other characters that I normally read about which means that I was shocked by the language that she uses or the things that she dose through out the story.  Frustrating because there was times when she should had been jumping in to do something but didn't!  Her as a person was pretty good, I loved her sarcasm through out the book, very um.... quick, funny and entertaining.  As for the rest of the characters I did not find them that interesting, well besides William & Christian and that was only because they were in a some what love triangle with Lily our MC. Hmm.. let's see the actual story line was only interesting in the very beginning when L(Lilly) was seeing things that she couldn't explain and when she was having the whole things pop out of her TV thing happen to her after those brief moments in the book I found myself getting bored! And I love these kinds of books so for me to get bored that means well.. that the book fell flat after the first couple of chapters. As a matter of fact I'm not sure if I should write this review because I can't even remember what the h*ll happened in some of the chapters!  I gave this book 3 stars because I liked the general idea. Meaning to say that I liked what De Lucy was trying to do but I do not like the way in which she did it! Hmm what else...Hmm ..um well since I am racking my brain trying to come up with anything interesting to report I guess I could...oh wait here's something. The vampires in this book are by far the lamest vampires I have ever come a cross in any vampire related book! They weren't strong or if they were from the way De Lucy wrote it I couldn't tell. They were cowards! And when have you ever heard of a vampire stabbing someone in the back with a knife?! Come on they're vampires they don't need regular weapons! OK now that I have gotten that out of my system its time for my personal ratings!!!! *whoo, yeah* *clapping my hands right now*
As for the characters I give them a 3 out of 10 stars * frowning*. Why because they were just not that interesting and any interest that they had was lost in the first part of the book. Setting/scenery a 6 because De Lucy did a good job of describing things for you(the reader)* giving the thumbs up sign* The plot a 4 because even though it was boringly carried out it was still different for me and I appreciate when an author is trying to be different* giving the head banger sign right now*. And finally the overall experience  a ... 4 because while it was different I ran on and on and on and had me wondering what h*ll did I just read and why did I pick this book to read so late at night.

Wicked Woods(#1) by Kailin Gow book review

 Wow This was a really good book even though I didn't expect it to be(given that until this book cover caught my eye I was completely unaware of Kailin Gow's work) *stupid me I know* but this was a very good read and I actually found  most of the characters very refreshing! Especially the MC(main character). The-whole-she-was-the-queen-bee-at-her-school- thing and now she's just mellow thing was a surprise that showed how 2 dimensional she is as character. And what a name! Briony. Doesn't that just rolls off of the tongue! And wow how creepy was the name of the town. Wicked Woods ,MA . Gow just knew what she was doing by picking that town, so creepy that before the story even began or before you even read any review or pieces of the story that you just knew something creepy was going to be going on here. Hmm... the two supporting friends Maisey and Steve could have kept me more entertained though and Claire and Tracey was a bit flat, Pepper who has a name like that? But those are all minor details that since those characters didn't make to much of an appearance in the story didn't really seem to bother me that much.

They made you wonder but not too.  Come to think of it Gow could have done more with the characters of Kevin and Fallon and when I found out that F was a vampire I thought this was going to turn into a Twilight sort of thing but just with a younger version of Bella that is a slayer which would had been a-ok in my book!  Hmm what else should I mention? *thinking* O h yes I love how Gow left the ending all good cliff hangerish. And I say good cliff hanger because I have read some books that left you with bad cliff hangers that made you want to go find the author and punch them in the face. *getting mad just thinking about it*.
Now since I liked this book so much and possibly can't think of anything else to ramble about then here it comes my personal rating system! *yea!* *throwing confetti right now*  For the characters I'm going to give a 6 out of 10 , why? Because even though the side characters weren't that interesting Gow focused her attention on the main characters(ones that made more than maybe a sometime appearance) and I think that's what really matters. The plot a 9 out of 10, why? Because the whole MC becoming a slayer thing was cool and unexpected. the setting/scenery a 10( wow no one has received that from me before!), why? Because the description of the different scenes and just the name of the town alone creep the sh*t out of me. And finally the overall experience a 9. And oh yes I will be reading what's next to come and any other Kailin Gow stuff I can get my ands on! Kailin Gow if you every read this you just made yourself another fan!

Crescendo(Hush,Hush 2) by Becca Fitzpatrick book review

Wow ok I I really didn't think that I was going to like this installment because of the way the last one ended but wow. Ok this one picks with Nora(N) & Patch(P) just enjoying the perks of a new relationship and all that and then wam! Here's come like this whole tornado of distrust. N tells P that she loves him and then all hell breaks loose literally! There this thing where P can't tell N that he loves her back because the archangels are now watching their every move and blah, blah, blah. I didn't(just like how I didn't like in the first one) like the way Fitzpatrick keeps you in the dark about everything! Like really everything! Then once again there's this whole everyone seems like they are trying to kill N thing going on sos you never know who to trust during the entire book. The only person that could be trusted is the MC(main character) becuase of course she's not out to kill herself, that would just be stupid!  Fitzpatrick please if you are out there reading this somewhere some how please give us something more I don't know stable.

Don't get me wrong I love a good mystery as much as the next person but when evryone is a susspect things getting alittle crazy. * that was a mouthful* *wiping sweat off of my forehead right now* Now as for the characters themselves no one has to improved at all! Everyone is exactly the same as they were in the first installment which to me is a little um... lazy. I think one of the main reasons people continue to follow a series is because you are dying to read what happens next and to see if any of the characters has I don't know grown up! Okay think about it like this: all of these character are like friends or just anyone that you haven't seen in a long time( I say long time because unless you don't have a life then I'm quite sure that you took a breather in between book 1 & book2, you probably went to work or school or went to go walk the dog or whatever) so when you finally catch up with these friends or coworkers or whatever you want to know if there's anything new happening in there life right? So by the characters improving from one book to another that kind there way of letting you know what's happening in there life. *another mouthful, wiping more sweat oof my forehead*.

Without more rambeliing I can say that Fitzpatrick did not delivery whatever the h*ll I just rambelled about. The plot was just like the character unchanging. so with all of that in mind I think it's time for my own personal whatever out of 10 stars ratings *yea!*  The characters I'm ging to give a 4 and a half stars out of 10 , I'm giving the half because while they were unchanged they still had enough zip to keep me entertained. The plot a 4 and half stars and the half is because just like the unchanged characters the plot(once you get pass the whole-everyone-wants-to-kill-Nora-thing) had enough zing to keep me reading it all the way into the wee hours of the morning. The scenery/setting a 3 because while Fitzppatrick dose describe where they are and what's going on I still found myself imagining something completely different than what was being described(I guess you can say I mad up my own scenery in my head when Fitzpatrick should have planted exactly what I was suppose to imagine there). And finally *dum-dum* *trumpets blaring* the overall experience which I will give a 5 out of 10 stars, why? Because although I had comlpaints I did enjoy reading it and am dying to get my hands on the third installement!
